A...Oh dang, I can't believe I just found this.

At a quilt guild exchange, I bought a semi-made DWR quilt. All the arc pieces are made. Some of them are assembled with the melons and the centers. Most are not. I haven't done anything with it but buy some fabric to cut out more of the melons and the centers as there is not enough of that.

It's fabric from the 30s through the 50s, I think. The original fabric for the background pieces is an orange seersucker. The impact of that is gorgeous! I'm supplementing with several different orange stripes.

My biggest challenge to starting work on the quilt has been a template for the centers and the melons. I think I have to trace an existing piece and make my own template as every commercially available template I've found is too small.carolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10565283055532855827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110377755415562704.post-84939704907905626902011-04-03T15:32:44.498-05:002011-04-03T15:32:44.498-05:00Now you guys are tempting me to try something else...Now you guys are tempting me to try something else and I haven't even finished everything else I'm in the process of trying! I don't think I'm going to do a whole quilt but I am going to try to do a wall hanging. I think if I can do it well it'd make a nice gift.Dawnmarie's Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06033691473942743491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110377755415562704.post-9442640367646235872011-04-03T14:24:11.121-05:002011-04-03T14:24:11.121-05:00Perfect timing!
